Best time to go
- Spring (April to June) is a wonderful time to visit France, with mild temperatures, blooming flowers, and fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months. It's perfect for exploring cities like Paris, Lyon, and Bordeaux, as well as the picturesque countryside and vineyards
- Summer (July to August) is the peak season, especially in coastal areas and popular destinations like the French Riviera and Provence. Expect warm temperatures, vibrant nightlife, and crowded beaches
- Autumn (September to November) is perfect for wine tasting in regions like Burgundy and Champagne
- Winter (December to February) is perfect for skiing and snowboarding in the French Alps

- Paris has an illustrious history in literature and art, and taking a walking tour is a great way to learn how it has inspired generations of writers and painters, such as Hemingway, Fitzgerald and Picasso
- Many restaurants are closed during August, so plan ahead and be flexible. Some establishments can still mistakenly take bookings even though they will be closed
- Knowing some French phrases can be handy, especially if you travel outside urban areas
- Brittany wildlife sightings: the best time to see basking sharks is Spring or Summer. Puffins (Mar - Jul) & the razorbill (Franceβs most threatened seabird, Feb - Jul ) can be spotted around Les Sept Γles
