- Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are great times to visit Spain, with mild temperatures and fewer crowds, making it perfect for city breaks and outdoor activities
- Summer (June to August) is the peak travel season, especially in coastal areas and popular destinations like the Balearic Islands and Costa del Sol. It's ideal for beach vacations and outdoor festivals, but be prepared for higher prices and larger crowds. Some cities in Southern Spain can be very hot
- Winter (December to February) is perfect for skiing in the Pyrenees and Sierra Nevada, or experiencing traditional holiday celebrations like Christmas markets and the Three Kings Day in January

- Spaniards typically eat lunch between 13:00 -15:00 and dinner between 20:00-23:00. It's common to linger over meals, so be prepared for longer dining experiences
- Tipping is appreciated but not obligatory – rounding up the bill or leaving a small tip (around 5-10%) is customary
- Many businesses in Spain, especially in smaller towns, observe a siesta (midday break) from approximately 14:00-17:00. During this time, shops, restaurants, and businesses may close, so plan your activities accordingly
- La Sagrada Familia is expected to be completed by 2026, after 144 years of construction. Skip-the-line tickets are recommended to avoid queues and disappointment on the day
- Taking a bike tour can be a great and energy-efficient way to see Barcelona
- Tickets to the Alhambra can sell out a month in advance. Pre-booking is essential
- Tenerife is the best place for stargazing in Europe
- Gran Canaria is great for outdoor activities
- Orcas, Pilot Whales & Dolphins are found around the Strait of Gibraltar - see them in their natural habitat and avoid aquariums where they are held captive
