Best time to go

• Türkiye has its charm all year round. Summer months are good for outdoor dining.
• April, May, September and October are the best times to visit as it is pleasantly warm whilst not being unbearably hot.

Good things to know

• Türkiye has many stray cats and dogs, and the locals try to take care of them by putting out food and water outside shops and constructing shelters.
• Please dress conservatively if you are going into mosques: this means clothes that cover shoulders, below knee length and sometimes a head scarf for women
• Many mosques give people plastic shoe covers. However, this results in a large amount of daily plastic waste. We recommend travellers to reuse these shoe covers if visiting multiple mosques
