- Autumn (September to November) is perfect for wine tasting in Tuscany, exploring historical sites without the crowds, and enjoying autumn colours in regions like Umbria and Piedmont
- Winter (December to February) is great for skiing and snowboarding in the Italian Alps

- The water fountains on the roadside are for drinking water.
- Italians can have dinners quite late, and some restaurants only open around 19:00 or 20:00
- Italian cuisine is world-renowned, and cooking classes such as pizza and pasta making and gelato workshops are popular activities
- Sorrento lemons are the best in Italy, and the whole Amalfi Coast is known for lemons and limoncello
- There are many cycle tours or golf buggy tours in Rome, as it can be challenging to walk around the city in the summer heat
- Be prepared to queue for museums and galleries in Florence
